Today, I want to share with you an exercise I developed unintentionally. I have no idea how common this is, but I have a pretty constant stream of imaginary conversations taking place in my head. It’s basically the way that I talk to myself: different parts of my psyche manifest as different people in my life, who I imagine conversations with.

In high school, I started to participate in imaginary interviews where Jon Stewart, Terry Gross, or Peter Segal asked me questions about my books. (Yes, I was a nerdy kid. Was that ever in doubt?)
