Tomorrow: Special Considerations for LGBTQIA+ Romance

I hope you’ve been enjoying Pro-Writing Aid’s Write With Pride series this month. I wanted to send you a final reminder that my presentation, Special Considerations for LGBTQIA+ Romance is TOMORROW, June 23 at 12 Noon EDT.
Whether your romance features a same sex couple or a hero and love interest who are different genders, readers expect the same plot structure. However, there are some unique features that may challenge authors of LGBTQIA+ romance such as:
Writing a romance for a triad or poly relationship
Writing romantic scenes when the main character and their love interest have the same gendered pronouns
Describing bodies or writing sex scenes for transgender, intersex, and/or gender non-conforming characters
Writing for characters who use gender neutral pronouns
Avoiding bisexual erasure for bi or pansexual characters
Including Ace or demi-sexual characters
In this presentation, I’ll share some quick tips/ best practices as well as examples writers can study from published works.
